About: I worked at the Leisure Centre in Selby since November 2005 as a lifeguard and qualified as an swimming instructor in January 2007 up until January 2012 when I was put on mostly paper work due to illness when being pregnant with my first child however I still taught adults swimming with a lifeguard assistant.

I enjoyed teaching swimming but I also realised I was really good at it when I started getting scared non-swimmers swimming confidently quicker than most of the others on my team.

Seeing their progress and their proud faces and being part of their learning journey to swim capably made me realise I had the best job in the world. The pool I had worked at burned down so I decided to set up Emily Frances' Little Stars Swimming School and started January 2013.

At 29 years old with 2 children and my own business E.F.L.S. now running for over 5 years. I regularly attend CPD's and swimming teaching courses to update and improve our classes. In 2016 I went on a baby and preschool advanced course where I learned more about bonding with baby how to hold them. It also confirmed my growing belief that it should be the babies decision right from birth if they would like to go under the water and they should never be forced.

Researching this and other techniques further I gained so much more to better my classes in to the ones they are today ever evolving with new ideas and concepts that relate to my already competent teaching knowledge to renew kids to engage in their classes with fun and develop their skills further at the same time.
